Does every workweek end with the same stiff neck or aching back? That is not bad luck. It is a pattern.

Physiotherapy for Neck and Back Pain Amsterdam

Long days behind a screen, then the familiar pain between your shoulder blades or in your lower back. A massage or painkiller helps until tomorrow; breaking the pattern helps for the long term. At BeyondPhysio in Amsterdam West we find what overloads your neck and back every day, then train it out in 45-60 minute sessions.

Who is this for?

Who is this for?

You spend long days at a desk, in meetings or moving through the city. Almost without noticing, a stiff neck or aching lower back has become part of your week. You do not want to wait and hope it disappears. You want to understand why it keeps returning and get rid of it without endless treatment that changes little.

Neck and back complaints are one of the most common reasons people visit us in Amsterdam West. In many cases the issue is not that something is broken, but that your body is repeatedly loaded in a way it cannot currently handle.

The problem

You probably recognise this

What you notice

  • A stiff or painful neck, or pain between the shoulder blades, especially near the end of the workday.
  • Lower back pain with sitting, bending or lifting, sometimes radiating to the buttock or leg.
  • Headache that seems to start from the neck.
  • Complaints that improve after rest or massage, but keep returning.

How it feels

You are tired of working and training around pain. Doubt creeps in, and without noticing you adapt your day: sitting differently, lifting less and skipping workouts.

Why that is not right

You should not have to end every workday in pain to be productive. You also should not have to choose between rushed twenty-minute care and generic training advice.

The cause

Why it keeps coming back

Most treatments focus on the place that hurts: massage for the neck, painkillers for the back or a general exercise sheet. That can relieve symptoms for a short time.

What it does not answer is the question that matters: why does your neck or back become overloaded again every day? The cause is often somewhere else in your posture, hips, workplace setup or load tolerance. Until that is addressed, the same pattern keeps returning.

Our approach

Your plan in three steps

Our role is to guide you out of that loop. We take 45-60 minutes in a private treatment room with one consistent therapist, so there is time to assess, treat and build capacity properly.

Assessment & movement analysis.

We assess not only the painful area, but your full movement pattern: posture, strength, mobility, work habits and daily load.

Your personal recovery plan.

You know what we will do, why we do it and what timeline and result you can realistically expect.

Treat and build capacity.

We combine hands-on treatment with targeted exercise therapy and strength work inside BeyondFit, so the pattern is less likely to return.

Result

What you get back

A workday that no longer ends with neck or back pain. You move, work and train with more confidence, and you understand what overloads your body and how to stay ahead of it.

Waiting costs recovery

What waiting costs you

If you keep avoiding movement and treating only symptoms, pain becomes part of your week. The longer a pattern exists, the harder it is to change later.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

When should I see a physiotherapist for neck or back pain?

If symptoms last longer than one or two weeks, keep returning, affect work, sleep or daily life, an assessment is sensible. We also screen for warning signs and refer you when medical evaluation is needed.

Do I need surgery if I have a herniated disc?

Usually not. Many herniated disc complaints improve within about twelve weeks with the right guidance. Physiotherapy helps you keep moving safely, build capacity and avoid fear-based avoidance.

Should I rest or keep moving?

For most neck and back complaints, responsible movement is better than prolonged rest. We help you understand which movements are useful and which loads need temporary adjustment.

How many sessions will I need?

That depends on the complaint and your goal. After the first assessment you receive a realistic plan with an expected timeline.

Do you speak English?

Yes. Our specialists speak English and regularly treat internationals and expats in Amsterdam West.
